January 2nd, 2012

I'm being consistent so far, but its only been two days, and both days, exciting things have happened. I'm worried I'll slow down once school starts back up...

Today, I woke up and laid around in bed for a while before getting up and getting a small meal for breakfast/lunch/thingy. I then pampered myself with a long hot shower, and curled into the big fluffy white robe I got from Jake's mom as I cleaned out my pores, played with my eyebrows, and dried my hair. I proceeded to get dressed, fix up my hair better, and do make up.
Even though I was going to see Jake, I did my makeup. I always do my makeup when I know I'm going to also be interacting with his family, for some reason. I just don't want to be judged and I am afraid of it.
I went over, and Jake and I ran about to a book store to look for something I had wanted. We weren't able to find it. But we headed back to his house and our early dinner/late lunch meal was complete.
For the longest time, he's been bragging about his father's cooking, and telling me I need to come over for dinner. However, with the idea that they want to move into a new home sometime soon, the whole house was practically in boxes, and no one cared much to clean if they were just going to be leaving. Well, the leaving didn't work out (over the summer, they were constantly searching for new homes closer to AAW, but there just seemed to be something wrong with all of them...) and so the house is still as such. His mother was very against me coming in the house until she cleaned it up a bit. After many dinner cancellations and stressing out, she was so excited to have finally picked up the living room/dining room at least, finish painting it, and make it look absolutely gorgeous. Honestly, that room looked fantastic. Jake's room, is a different story. :P
But tonight, I was able to experience food at their house, which was, as bragged, amazing. We had a delicious prime rib, mashed potatoes, peas, dinner rolls... it was all very good.
We hung about for a while and played a few video games before I pressed Jake to take me to a few more bookstores to find what I had wanted. We went to one by his house but couldn't find it, as well as the Royal Oaks Bookstore on Woodward. I enjoyed the cats that were hanging around that awesome store, but wasn't able to find what I wanted. We hit another Barnes and Noble, but didn't find it there either.
This is the book I went in wanting. I'd heard great things about it before, and wanted to check it out. I downloaded a free nook app for my iPhone, along with the sample of this book, and just want more of it.
Jake had mentioned he liked that book as well, and wanted to read it again. He said he's going to buy it online or if he sees it in a store for me to read, and it will be our book.

This is the book we ended up getting at the last Barnes and Noble, as it was only $10, and seemed very interesting. I know they made a movie about it too, so maybe after we read it, we'll check it out.
Jake also mentioned he'd like to read this one.
I think it would be really cool for us to share books and read together. We already watch movies together, and talk about them... books would also just be so cool.
This too, would be "our" book.

I also really like the idea of us sharing things. It seems as though we've already set into the stage of a typical married couple, living life. We don't really go about paying for our own things. If we're getting a meal together, one of us will pay for both of us. Or if we're in a store buying something together, whoever wants to buys it. We indirectly are just kind of sharing our money between the two of us (though, at this point, most of it is Jake's because he actually has a job...). We spend money on each other so freely, though, and I really like it. I like that it just kind of ties together. I've been wondering about the idea of us getting a joint bank account sometime soon, perhaps... I feel, if we were to get an apartment, it would be a good way for us to put our money into to pay rent for said apartment.
Speaking of, the townhouse apartments in Royal Oak. Do want! <3
Seriously looking into that once I snag a job somewhere.

Anywho.
After bookstore shenanigans, we were careful on the roads as it started snowing quite violently, and grabbed our usual coffee from Starbucks before returning to his house. We efficiently finished more shrimp cocktail, cute little snack things, crackers and cheese spread, cashews, and even loaded potato soup.
Two days into the new year, and I think my "lose weight" resolution is already going down the drain!
Nah, I'm doing okay. But if I keep eating over at Jake's, with all the food his parents offer, it might just be shot!
We played Forza, Mario Kart, and watched some Top Gear before I decided I was really tired, I was uneasy about the roads being bad, and secretly, my stomach was once again upset. It wasn't because of the food, but I am seriously starting to believe I may have Chron's disease, as this isn't the first time its happened, and it comes and goes. Hopefully I can see a doctor about this soon.

And now, I'm back in my icebox of a bedroom, typing this up before I wash up, change, and snuggle into my bed.

I'm getting emails from professors reminding us about classes starting, and everything and I have mixed feelings about school.
I return to the dorms tomorrow evening, and classes resume on Wednesday. I'm glad to be going back to embrace more independence, but I will miss the luxuries at home, as I expressed in my last journal.
I also have mixed feelings about tomorrow in general. I know I should wake up early to get everything packed and ready to return, but... I kind of want to savor my last day of break, and sleep in again!
I guess we'll just see what happens, hm?

Whelp, I'm tired, and any train of thought I had is gone now. So, goodnight!

~Mary
